China to Offer COVID Vaccination to Children

There was some fantastic news announced on Chinese media last week; the country will now start to administer COVID-19 vaccines to children aged between 3 and 17 years of age!  The government will start with the oldest and hope to vaccinate all eligible children between the ages of 12 and 17 by the end of October 2021.

This is fantastic news for UK boarding schools whose Chinese students have had their education disrupted by the ongoing pandemic.  Movement between China and the UK has not been straight-forward in the past year (and, at some points, not even possible) but this could suggest that life will slowly continue to return to normal and hopefully travel between the countries will be less affected as a result.

We remain confident that the outstanding vaccination rates will help keep the UK the most attractive country for Chinese parents to send their children for a world-leading, well-rounded education.  We hope that, by having their children vaccinated before their departure to the UK, parents back in China can be further reassured that their child will have that extra shield of safety whilst they remain at their UK boarding school.
